From the ripe age of 5, Mary C. took to the stage performing original music written on the steps of her schoolyard.

Daughter of Jazz recording artist, Mercedes Hall and sister of Actor/Director Anthony Michael Hall, artistry runs deep in the blood.

While studying piano at Columbia University’s Teacher’s College from the age of 5 to 15, It was then that Mary was able to begin her journey as not only a performer but as a musician.

Born and raised in New York City, this rising star has been the buzz of NYC’s music scene for the last 3 years.

While crafting her highly anticipated debut album ‘UnExpected’. Mary has also been writing, arranging & producing for up and coming artist. Fine tuning her skills along side producers and engineers from major labels, such as Sony Music studios, Sony International & Universal Records.

Performing sold out shows through out the city, Mary has rocked the stages of Crash Mansion, Suite 16, The Cutting Room and has her residency and the legendary Bitter End.

With request to perform all over the country, in 2007 Mary was asked to headline the Carol Baldwin Breast Cancer Benefit and performed to a crowd of over 2,000 fans.

In November of 2007, Mary was invited to perform at the world famous ING New York City Marathon. Performing to a crowd of over 40,000 runners and participants, Mary gained a fan base that now spreads internationally!

2008 has kicked off with a bang!

In January, Mary performed at NYC’s PIANOS music venue. Sharing the bill with Grammy nominated R&B artist, Emily King. It was a night of showcasing true up and coming singer/songwriter talent!

Most recently, In February 2008, Mary was invited to perform at S.O.B’s/ SolVillage.

As an example of what takes place at SOL VILLAGE, on different nights in the past there have been appearances by recording artists such as; Musiq, Bilal, & John Legend. This neo-soul showcase series has grown to become one of the most popular in the country.

Although Mary has been compared to such artist like, Joss Stone, Christina Aguilera & Lauryn Hill – there is no doubt that Mary C. brings her own unique sense of style and flare to her music that separates her artistry from the rest.
